Web_ClaxtonVerna H. Claxton, age 79, of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away Monday, February 1, 2016.

A memorial gathering will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at  Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship.

Verna was born September 3, 1936 in Bensenville, Illinois to Walter and Pauline Knicker.

She married Dennis D. Claxton on October 1, 1969 in Wheaton, Illinois.

Verna enjoyed traveling with Dennis while he was employed as an over the road truck driver, and they also enjoyed fishing together. Verna spent numerous hours feeding and caring for the birds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Claxton and her son, John Wincell.

Daughter:  Sheryl (Tim) Worzella of Auburndale, Wisconsin

Daughter:  Sharon (Gregg Jensen) Treat of Friendship, Wisconsin

Daughter:  Sharlene (Bruce Halama) Witz of Whitehall, Wisconsin

Daughter:  Sheri (Shawn) Pietrzak of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren

Debi and Randy spent the summers planting and trimming trees with her. She did a lot of transplanting for Ron when we had the greenhouses. Plus just being a great friend. God Bless

As a neighbor, a friend, a chaperone, a card player, trucker driver, tree trimmer, a bowler and most importantly a Mom, she broke the mold. And what a lovely photo to send her off with.
