Vera Lorraine Cook

Vera Lorraine Cook born November 27, 1929, to Edward Theodore and Minnie Henrietta (Grunwald) Edwards, the youngest daughter of 13 children. As a young girl, she enjoyed fishing with her Dad, going to dances with her brothers and sisters, and spending time outdoors enjoying nature.

Vera attended Friendship Grade School and graduated from Adams Friendship High School.

She Married Norman N. Cook on January 8, 1949, and dairy farmed with him while raising 5 children.

Upon quitting farming, they moved to Plover.

Vera enjoyed gardening especially with granddaughter Jessica, fishing with great-grandson Jacob, and visiting with and traveling with family. Vera was a very good cook and loved making delicious food for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed crafts, sewing, and cake decorating.

She was a 4-H leader for the Springville 4-H. Vera was active in serving the Lord, teaching Sunday School at White Creek Congregational church and at Wisconsin Dells Presbyterian Church.

She had three dogs that she was very fond of, Lulabelle, Trixie, and Reggie.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman Cook, son, Richard, granddaughter, Nichole, sisters: Blanche Dillman, Ethel Stevens, Isabella Morley, Lydia Quinnel, Betty Cornell, brothers: Clifford Payne, Fred Kahn, Otto Kirchner, John Edwards, Edward Edwards, Tom Edwards, and Chester Edwards.

Survivors: Sons: James (Nancie) Cook of Reedsburg, Wisconsin and Charles Cook of Shalimar, Florida
Daughters: Norma (Charles) Gray of Stevens Point, Wisconsin
Brenda (Brice) Nelson of Plover, Wisconsin
Debra (Phil) Hansen of Sheboygan, Wisconsin
Grandchildren: Todd (Angela) Gray, Tim (Ashley) Gray, Jessica Cook, Stephanie Cook, Marcus (Amanda) Cook, Brandon (Trish) Cook, Ashley Cook, Brianna (Will) Blakey, Brennan (Lindsay) Nelson, Brett Nelson, Casey Hansen, Remington Hansen, Danica Hansen.
Great Grandchildren: Jacob Nachtigal, Jonah Gray, Isaiah Gray, Hannah Gray, Micah Gray, Brady Gray, McKenna Cook, and Lyra Cook.
Many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017, at the United Presbyterian Church in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Pastor Steve Keller will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the Church. www.roseberrys.com.
