Ruth Henzler Euller

Ruth Henzler Euller was born in Buffalo, NY on April 16, 1923. She died on January 2, 2016, in hospice care in Tomah, Wisconsin, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband Carlton, who died in January 2013. She is survived by five children: Kurt (Suzanne) Euller, Sparta, WI; Lynne (Steve) Reich, Delafield, WI; Steven (Nancy Roehr) Euller, Minneapolis, MN; Karen Euller, Lake Oswego, OR, and Evelyn Euller, Rochester, MN. Ruth also had 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Ruth lived in Buffalo until she married in 1945. She and Carl then lived in East Aurora, NY for many years until they moved to Oconomowoc, WI and later Beloit, WI. When Carl retired in 1982 they moved to Adams, WI where Ruth resided until shortly before her death.

Ruth was an avid seamstress in her early years and always a great cook known for her home-made pies. Later in Adams she joined a bowling team, and then began oil painting. She was really an artist at heart and painted several choice pieces that are cherished by her family. She was always curious and never stopped being engaged with the world around her. Her favorite expression was, “Oh, wow!” But the theme of her life was her love for her family. On her last Christmas she was pleased to see her children and know they were all safe. Her legacy to her family is her exemplary life as a wife, daughter, sister, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother.

As Ruth wished, a private family gathering will take place. No public service is planned.

Sending my deepest sympathy and heartfelt thoughts. I met Carl and Ruth when they came to the library regularly and they soon became two of my favorite patrons. I loved the times we got to visit and had some pretty hearty discussions.

We send our sincere condolences to the Euller family. It was a pleasure to get to know both Ruth and Carl as they were wonderful assets to our Easton community. In their earlier years both were great supporters of the Adams County Library whether it was as a library board member, member of the Friends of the Library or most of all as regular patrons.
