Rose Marie Vickers

Rose Marie Vickers age 86 died Oct. 24, 2018, at Villa Pines, Friendship, WI of heart failure.  Born Feb. 6, 1932 to Benjamin and Ruth (nee Brannaman) Trussell.

She married William Dettmer to which 2 children, Richard and Linda were born. This marriage ended in divorce.  She married John Vickers to which 2 children, Brent and Thomas were born.

She worked at the Red Owl, Adams Bakery, Sather’s Variety and Goggin Drug. She was a long-time member of AF Pals Bowling league and the Birthday Club.

Her greatest pastime after retirement was researching the history of Adams County.  Countless scrapbooks were made, some given to store owners and many given to the Adams County Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Ruth Trussell, brother, John Trussell and husband John Vickers.

    Another Angel to look over you. I remember her at Goggins when us girls would come to town for piano lessons. Between lessons next door, we would walk over to get a nickel Laffy Taffy. She was always so kind and a smile on her face. As a shy kid, seeing her face in that store gave me comfort. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Marie was a wonderful lady and I will miss her. When she came to Villa she asked me how my “spots” were doing that I broke out in the previous time she was there. The last day I saw her she said to me “take my temperature and let me die”. She will be missed dearly.
