Robin Skala

Robin Lee Skala (nee Snitchler), passed Monday, July 24, 2017 at 3:30 a.m. in Madison, WI.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, WI. Visitation will be Saturday September 16th, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Robin was born November 17, 1947 to Robert and Marion (Buzzard) Snitchler. She grew up in Michigan. She married David Ryan Skala on November 5, 1977. Robin worked as an Office Manager, Food Pantry Coordinator, and Case Manager for Community Action. She also worked for the DNR, and as a Park Attendant in Washington state in her younger days.

Robin enjoyed painting, reading, decorating her household, collecting hats, working, and spending time with her family.

Robin was a member of the Adams Book and Gun Club, President of the Duck Creek Water Shed

Advisory Group, and represented District #8 for the Adams County Board Supervisor.

Robin also worked as an rep payee for Professional Payee Services. Previously Robin worked for Mark East in Madison, WI and a Care Home for Autistic and under privileged children.

Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marion (Buzzard) Snitchler; and sister, Ann.

Husband: David Skala of Adams, WI
Son: Brandon Skala of Adams, WI
Son: Drake Sass of Arizona
Sister: Connie (Duane) Niblo of Baraboo, WI
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Roseberry’s Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.

    What an angel on this earth was Robin Scala. She could always see the good in people. She served this community in a multitude of ways and was my friend, my mentor, and my collaborator. We worked together on a grant that created the art gallery. She accepted my at-risk students totally, and gave them an opportunity to do community service when others would not. She had compassion, intelligence and humor. I ran into her just a few months ago, and she still showed her fighting and loving spirit. The world is a little darker without her.     I cannot describe in words how much she meant to me growing up and even now as adult. She had given me guidance and mentoring, believed in me when others doubted me and taught me so much. Everything I had ever aspired to do and bein life was because of all she had given.

    She was truly an amazing and strong woman. The work she did was above and beyond anything I had ever seen anyone do. She cared so much about the people of the community and fought for so much for them. Her legacy is truly a great one and one that will remain alive long past the years.
