    To Loren, Bill, and Family
As a youngster in grade school, Mrs. Ebert was one of my favorite teachers. I pressed my luck several times, relying on my humor, and boyish charm to position myself as the teachers pet. She was a very kind, and tolerant teacher, yet wasn’t afraid to remind those of us who came close to the line in the sand. Almost as if she had seen my tricks before. As an adult, my admiration for her only grew stronger, as every time I saw her, she would flash me a smile that seemed to say”don’t try it, I’ve got your number Patrick”, and I’m proud of how you have grown, all in the same look. She would greet me by name, and always have time to visit. RIP Mrs. Ebert

My sympathy to all of Mrs. Ebert’s family. Like so many, many others, she was also my 2nd / 3rd grade teacher at Castle Rock. She was a good teacher, but also a nice, nice lady. I remember one day, when we were playing dodge ball at noon, she was on playground watch. I got hit and took a big dive and skid on the asphalt and ripped my knees up. She swooped in, like a hawk, picked me up, carried me into the school, to the back of the classroom, sat me on the counter by the sink and got me all washed and bandaged up. and then gave me a hug. It was one of those things that sticks in your mind forever. God bless her for her kindnesses and may she rest in peace.
