Richard “Dick” Corris

Richard “Dick” Corris, age 91, of Beloit, Wisconsin passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Rockford
Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. John K. Stake will officiate. Interment will be at the White Cemetery, Town of Coloma, Adams County, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

Dick was born May 4, 1925 in Russell, Illinois the son of John and Grace Corris.

At the age of 18 he started his career as a beekeeper. He was stung so bad that the doctor said he would not survive if it happened again. He then bought a truck and hauled gravel for 3 years. He bought 80 acres in 1949 in La Prairie township where he milked cows for a while and cashed crop the land, in 1952 he started to work at Libby’s as a maintenance engineer. After 28 years he retired in 1980.

He married Ella M. Payne on October 30, 1976 in Rockton, Illinois.

He enjoyed dancing, spending time with his family, and traveling.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and his 6 siblings, Alice, Helen, Merrell, John Jr., George and Roy.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Corris; his two children, Gary (Jan) and Betty; his four grandchildren, Janine (Carl), Josh (Jaime), Jamie & Tara; his seven great-grandchildren, Simmone, Dylan, Avery, Morgan, Kieran, Payton & Parker.
