Mark Durkin Matchey

webMark Durkin Matchey, age (55), of Adams, WI passed away August 29, 2016 in Des Moines, IA.
Graveside services will be conducted at St. Leo’s Catholic Cemetery at 3pm on Saturday, October 1st, 2016. Pastor Don Caves will officiate.
Mark was born August 27, 1961 to James and Jane Matchey (Kopacz) in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1980 and went on to play college baseball in Boone, IA, before attending the Business School at UW-Stout. He worked in Sales in the Staffing Industry for over 30 years.
An avid sportsman, Mark enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, water skiing, and boating. Mark also enjoyed football, especially watching the Green Bay Packers and loved attending games whenever possible.
After college, Mark spent many years living and working in Minnesota, before moving to California, Hawaii, Washington and Iowa.
Over the years, Mark kept in touch with so many of his childhood friends and people he met along the way. He truly loved being around friends and family and had the gift of making people laugh with his entertaining way of telling stories.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents Clifford and Neah Matchey, and Chester and Veronica Kopacz, also his father, James Matchey.
Surviving family include:
Mother: Jane (Dave) Singers of Mesa, Arizona.
Brother: Michael (Cheryl) Matchey of Coto de Caza, California.
Brother: Jeff Ruthenberg of La Vale, Maryland.
Brother: Steve (Linda) Ruthenberg of Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Further survived by other relatives and many friends.

    Mark was a neighbor of ours will miss him. He was so loving and giving he was one was a special man. He made us laugh and filled us with life. He showed con passion and loved for those around him. He had love for all . He also had a special love in his life who he loved as well. He smiled and glanced at her with love a love lots of us never had. Love you Mark we know you are at peace
