Marie Kramer

Marie Barbara Kramer, age 87, of Adams, Wisconsin died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Liberty Village in Adams, Wisconsin.

A celebration of Marie’s life will be at the Adams VFW Post 6279 172 N. Linden St, Adams, Wisconsin on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Please join the family at the VFW between 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm. The VFW Auxiliary Ritual will take place at 12:30 pm with a lunch to follow.

Marie was born July 31, 1929 in Adams, Wisconsin to Walter and Lydia (Lucas) Cicvarek. She attended area grade schools and graduated from the Adams High School in 1947. Marie married Richard C. Albrecht after high school, and they enjoyed Adams County together having three children and building their dream home. Richard passed away in 1975. In 1978, Marie married Vincent Kramer. Marie and Vince shared their love of working outdoors in Marie’s huge garden and on Vince’s forested acreage. Both Vince and Richard were two of the founding fathers of the Adams VFW post, and Marie played a major role in the VFW auxiliary.

Marie worked hard her whole life. She spent years managing Christmas tree plantation crews. Many Adams County youths’ first work experience was with Marie shearing Christmas trees. She also worked at Badger Ordinance and tended bar.

Marie always had a huge garden and enjoyed canning, freezing and sharing produce. She loved working in the woods cutting fire wood, creating lumber on Vince’s saw mill and hunting. Fishing was another love, and she even had a smoke house for smoking fish. Her volunteer work at the Adams VFW was her pride and joy.

Marie was a proud member of the VFW Auxiliary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Marie’s memory to the family or the Adams-Friendship High School Scholarship Fund.

Marie was preceded in death by her first husband Richard C. Albrecht, her second husband Vincent Kramer, her son Richard W. Albrecht, her sister Margaret Landsinger, her brother Victor Cicvarek, and her son-in-law James Norland.
