Lester Dearth

Lester James Dearth, age 54, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 24, 2018 with his wife by his side. He was born February 6, 1964 in Prairie du Sac, WI to James and JoAnn (Eaton) Dearth. The family moved to the Madison area where Lester attended West High. Lester and Cheryl were married and built a house in Verona where they raised their daughter, Kristen. Lester built his company, Quality Affordable Painting & Drywall, from the ground up in 2000 which he successfully ran for a number of years.

Family was very important to Lester. Some of the things he enjoyed were hunting, fishing, skateboarding, camping, riding ATV’s and motorcycles.

Lester was a very creative person who loved to invent things. He had a passion for rebuilding and restoring his collection of Vintage motorcycles. He was an excellent cook and loved to cook for other people. He loved his family dearly and through his ability to connect with anyone and everyone he created many lasting friendships. What really shined through the most was his generosity, eagerness to help others and willingness to put others needs before his own. He will be loved and missed by so many.

Lester was preceded in death by his nephew, Austin Jirikowic, and mother-in-law, Norene Bridge.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cheryl Dearth; daughter, Kristen (McClain Gitch); parents, Jim and JoAnn Dearth; sister, Julie (John) Jirikowic; father-in-law, William Bridge and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated. Visit www.roseberrys.com for online condolences and further information.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the Dearth family. I’ve had a great friendship with Lester’s daughter Kristen. While I never had the pleasure of meeting Kristen’s parents, she is a lovely, smart funny person and I imagine her father Lester and mother had a lot to do with it! Hope your sadness passes a little bit each day.
