Leroy “Shorty” Joseph Thompson Jr., age 67, of Adams, Wisconsin died Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin.

Interment will be at the Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee, Wisconsin at a later date.

Leroy was born January 24, 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Leroy Joseph and Viola (Lang) Thompson. He grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from South Division High School in 1970. He married Carol Liethen in 1976 in Milwaukee. This marriage was blessed with two children before ending in divorce. Leroy worked as a house painter in Milwaukee for many years. Leroy and son, Tim moved to Adams, WI in 1990. Leroy worked at Castle Rock Container and Holiday Wholesale. Leroy enjoyed 27 years together with Joyce Baumgart.

Leroy enjoyed ringing the bell for the Salvation Army, which he did for 20 years.

Leroy was a member of Adams Fire Dept for 24 years and Friendship Fire Department for 4 years.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Viola Thompson.

Grandchild: Jaiven Thompson of Lafayette, Louisiana
Significant Other: Joyce Baumgart of Adams, Wisconsin
Brother: Mike (Sue) Thompson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Brother: Jeff Thompson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Sister: Darlene Lueth of Waxhaw, North Carolina
Sister: Barbara Skonecki of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
