Karen E. Nornberg

Karen E. Nornberg, a resident, most recently, of Adams, WI, died May 12, 2017 following a long battle with COPD at the home of her daughter Gina Nornberg.

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday 20, 2017 at Roseberry’s Funeral home. Father Joseph Redfern will officiate. Visitation will be at Roseberry’s on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Karen was born September 17, 1938 in Eldorado (Fond du Lac County), WI to Harold and Caroline (Winters) Marcoe. She graduated from Goodrich (Fond Du Lac) High School in 1957. Additionally, she graduated from Milwaukee Accredited School of Beauty Culture in 1958. On May 30, 1959, she married Jimmy Nornberg in North Fond du Lac, WI. In retirement, she and Jimmy summered in Northern Wisconsin by Lake Tomahawk and spent winters in Kove Estates in Osteen, FL. Following Jimmy’s passing, Karen returned to Northern Wisconsin by St. Germain, WI.

Karen was proud of 40 plus years of sobriety due to her strong beliefs in A.A. She enjoyed reading books and was always found with at least one book if not two. She was an avid pet owner of many pets over the years and left her yellow lab “Jackie” and her tabby cat “Katy Kittie” in the trusted care of her daughter Gina.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Caroline Marcoe. Her brother, Vilas Marcoe. Her sisters, Cordia Johnson and Camilla Bukowski. And her beloved husband Jimmy Nornberg.

To the family my condolences to you; Many years ago your MOM took me under her wing and took me to my first AA meeting and watch over me for my first year of Sobriety, for this I count her as a blessing every day I have been clean and sober. It was a very difficult year for both of us. but she stayed by me. I know she is looking down laughing that I am still difficult. Then she left to go on with what she wanted for her own life, time passed and we lost touch but each conversation after we picked up were we left off. From her I learned to not be restricted because of my addictions live my life on my terms and never return to the life that almost took it. FOR THIS I WILL BE FOREVER GRATEFUL !! I am sorry I will not be there Saturday, but in my heart and mind I will be ♥ Also she was closer to 50 than forty years clean and sober ♥
