Joyce Lorraine Elliott

Joyce Lorraine Elliott, age 80, of Mondovi, formerly of Arkdale, Wisconsin passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at her home, The Homeplace Assisted Living Facility in Mondovi.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at the Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church in Arkdale, Wisconsin.   Pastor Terri Skildum will officiate.  Interment will be at the East Arkdale Cemetery.  Visitation will be 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Saturday at Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church.

Joyce was born July 2, 1938, in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Ralph and Dorothy (Swift) Olson.

She grew up in Arkdale on the home farm and went to school at the Strongs Prairie two-room schoolhouse and graduated from Adams-Friendship High School.

Joyce went to Minneapolis Minnesota for Nurses training at Fairview Hospital for three years. During that time she came back to help set up the Adams County Memorial Hospital.

She married Curtis Lee Elliott on June 25, 1960, in Arkdale at Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church.  They moved to Milwaukee where she worked as a nurse at Bayview Hospital.  She was a nurse for many years working in Milwaukee, Fond du Lac, Adams, Wisconsin Rapids, Omro, Beaver Dam, Altoona, and Biron.  She finished her nursing career as a Nursing Home Administrator at Adams County Memorial Hospital and Director of Nursing at a variety of Assisted Living facilities.

Joyce and Curt were active with the Sand County Players, and Senior Choir at Arkdale Trinity.

She loved to fish, sew, garden, play cards, dance, sing, play piano, do crafts, put puzzles together, and watch & feed the birds.  She also enjoyed canning.

Joyce was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and WELCA group, she was a Sunday school teacher, and a 4-H Leader.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph & Dorothy Olson; husband, Curtis Elliott; brothers, David & Edwin; nephew, David Barnes; father-in-law, Harry Elliott; mother-in-law, Mary McGregor; brothers-in-law, Richard Warren & Marvin Williams, and sisters-in-law, Mary Warren & Kathleen Sapp.

Daughter:  Brenda (Ron) Chamberlain of Trempealeau, Wisconsin

Daughter:  Bonnie (Burton) Hall of Winona, Minnesota

Son:  Bruce (Colleen) Elliott of St. Louis, Missouri

Grandchildren:  Brandon (Megen) Elliott, Ashley Elliott, Ethan (Katie Hogeboom) Gerth, Sari Gerth, Megan Elliott, Casie Hall, and Hope Elliott

Step-grandchildren:  Sabrina Chamberlain, Veronica Chamberlain, and Rayden Chamberlain

Great-Grandchildren:  Michella, Barrett, and Erin

Sister:  Eileen Krueger of Adams, Wisconsin

Sister-in-law:  Kay Olson-Martz of Arkdale, Wisconsin
