John Watson Neely

John Watson Neely, age 83, of Hancock, Wisconsin died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at his home.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 29th at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin.

John was born December 14, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri to Nelson Shelton and Lucile (Watson) Neely. He married Helen Mercy Brigham on Feb 25, 1961 in Independence, Missouri. They made in their home in Independence where they raised their two sons. John was a co-owner of the Independence Ambulance Service and later worked as Captain for the Independence Police Department. John, Helen, and the family moved to Hancock in 1974. He worked at Oxford Correctional Institution for 20 years, retiring 1994.

John enjoyed traveling, camping in the motorhome, they visited all 50 states, many national parks, and several foreign countries, he was a devoted father and grandfather. He attained Eagle Scout rank in the BSA. John was a proud graduate of the Southern Police Institute of Louisville, Kentucky. He was an avid fan of football.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Sheldon and Lucile (Watson) Neely.

Grandchild: Jordan Neely of Buford, GA
Grandchild: Jessica Neely of Fayetteville, GA
Sisters-in-law: Anita Koehler, Evelyn (Don) Burke, Marge Black,
Brother-in-law: Herb (Karen) Brigham
Further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
