Joan Marie Heim (Babcock)

Joan Marie Heim (Babcock), of Oxford, Wisconsin, went home to her Lord on August 21, 2016, peacefully surrounded by her family.

Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

Joan was born May 7, 1949, in Hillsboro, Wisconsin, to Gerald Wesley Babcock and Beverly Mae (Orsburne) Babcock. Joanie, as her family called her, spent her entire life loving and caring for her family, her pets, her friends, and her co-workers. Joan retired in 2013 from RR Donnelley in Baraboo, Wisconsin, where she worked as a receiving coordinator for over 20 years. To say she worked hard is a gross understatement. She was admired and loved by many. She may have been born with a defective heart, but it was the largest, most generous heart ever made by God.

Joan is survived by her two children; Trudy Kennedy of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Howard (Aga) Heim of Ardmore, Oklahoma; her granddaughters Heather (Jared) Porter, of North Freedom, Wisconsin, Jessica Wigen of Portage, Wisconsin, Gabrielle Heim of Baraboo, Wisconsin, Aviendha Heim of Spring Green, Wisconsin, Erika Kennedy of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Georgia Heim of Ardmore, Oklahoma, as well as seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Jerry (Sherry) Babcock of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Gary (Chris) Babcock, of San Antonio, Texas, along with many very special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son, and brothers Daniel and Gerald Jr.

Joan was, and always will be, the light, the rock, and the glue that holds the family together.
