James H. Johnson, age 83, of Adams, Wisconsin passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, Wisconsin.
Memorial services will be 12:00 Noon on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship. Pastor Jerry Stamper will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and again from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
James was born August 10, 1933 in Adams County, Wisconsin.
He married Shirley H. Gibbens on October 6, 1956 in Dubuque, Iowa.
James worked for Robert’ s Motors in Friendship for 25 years until his retirement. Following his retirement, James and Shirley worked as maintenance for the VFW in Adams and other local businesses.
He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, painting, and spending time with his family.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl (Gordon) Galbraith; wife, Shirley Johnson and special friend, Madge Fitzpatrick.

Jim was a great man. He sure did like to give hugs. But not let go. Lol he will be dearly missed. Watch over all of your family and friends. Until we meet again my friend.

Jimmy was my cousin but since we grew up together we always called each other Brother and Sister….We both grew up at Grandpa and Grandma Pipers farm….I loved Shirley also….I hope you are together again in Heaven…

Mr. & Mrs. Johnson as I grew up calling Jim and Shirley, were very special people. I loved them both dearly. I take solace in the fact that Jim is now reunited with his one true love, Shirley. I have so many fun memories that I could write a book. I’ve been gone from home for 33 yrs, but I’ve never forgotten the times that I had with this family. Especially Jim’s belief in me, I will forever cherish that. Randy, Cherrie, Rodney and Carole I love you always, my heart goes out to you all. Look for my mom at the visitation, she will be passing out extra hugs for you from me. I’m sorry I can’t be there, and I’m so sorry for your loss.
The Johnson Family were the first people that we knew when we moved to Adams. We were neighbors and spent many hours just visiting. My girls loved the Johnson kids and they also spent hours together. Jim and Shirley were special to all of us and have a special place in our hearts. May you rest in peace Jim and give Shirley a hug for us. Peg, Debbie and Kathy
Jim was a wonderful guy, he had a great sense of humor, and always had a smile on his face. I remember all the times our parents would get together for cards or board games. My prayers go out to your family. Remember all the good times.
