Ivan W. Perronne

Ivan W. Perronne, age 91, of Adams, Wisconsin died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Liberty Village in
Adams, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adams, Wisconsin. Rev. John Krebs will officiate. Interment will be at the Quincy Cemetery, Town of Quincy, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Ivan was born November 27, 1926 in Waterloo, Wisconsin to William and Minnie (Boese) Perronne Sr. He was a veteran of WWII, and served in the Navy on the aircraft carrier, USS Shangri-la in the pacific theater of war. Ivan married Arlean Schmidt on October 28, 1950 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He worked for 38 years as a locomotive engineer for the Chicago & North Western Railroad, retiring in 1988.

In the late 1960’s, Ivan bought a parcel of land in the town of Quincy and put a trailer on it. For the next decade, he and his family frequently traveled there to vacation. One of the happiest days of his life came in July of 1990 when Ivan, his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson all permanently relocated to new homes in the town of Quincy. He had realized his retirement dream and often referred to his new location as “God’s Country.”

While working on the railroad, Ivan attended vocational school and became skilled at autobody repair. He owned his own shop in Milwaukee for a time. Ivan loved camping, fishing, hunting and feeding the birds. He was an expert with the chainsaw but also planted countless trees in his lifetime. Ivan delighted in spending time with his grandson, Zach. He was a devoted caregiver to his wife, Arlean, who was ill for many years.

Ivan was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the American Legion Red Cloud Post #250, and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Veteran’s Association of the C&NW Railway and a shareholder of the Green Bay Packers.

Memorials may be directed in Ivan’s memory to the American Legion Red Cloud Post#250 or the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, William and Minnie (Boese) Perronne Sr.; beloved wife of 44 years, Arlean; seven sisters; and one brother.
