Henry S. Jacobs Jr.

web_JacobsHenry S. Jacobs Jr., age 73, of Westfield, Wisconsin died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at his home.

Memorial services will be 12 Noon on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the South Burr Oak Methodist Church, Town of Richfield, Adams County. Rev. Candy Lisiecki will officiate. Interment will be at the South Burr Oak Cemetery, Town of Richfield, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be 9 to 12 Noon on Saturday at South Burr Oak Methodist Church.

Henry was born January 27, 1943 in Ft. Collins, Colorado to Henry S. and Eugenia (Yost) Jacobs Sr. He was a member of South Burr Oak Methodist Church all his life, where he was a Sunday School Teacher and Church Youth Group Leader. Henry graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1961, where he carried on the tradition of his mother and maternal grandfather playing the trumpet for the AF Concert Band; for many years he continued to be the bugler for the Snider-Richardson American Legion Post. Henry was active in the Central Wisconsin Livestock Exposition showing beef cattle, hogs, and sheep and being on the judging teams. He was a long standing member of 4-H and showed field crops at the Adams County Fair. Henry was proud to be one of the few nationally honored with the FFA American Farmer Achievement Award at the National FFA Convention and maintained his association as an active FFA alumni. Henry was a graduate of UW-Madison Agriculture Short Course in 1962.

He married Linda Jane Retzlaff on August 11, 1972 in South Burr Oak United Methodist Church.

Henry was a past member of Methodist Youth Fellowship, Farm Bureau, Coloma Lions, Richfield Town Board (and Past President); the Adams County Sheriff’s Department in the 1970’s, and the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department as a fire fighter and first responder.

Henry enjoyed Ford muscle cars, John Deere tractors, Peterbilt semis, Canadian fishing trips, hunting, working on cars and trucks, and spending time with his family and friends.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sr. and Eugenia Jacobs; and wife, Linda J. Jacobs.
