Henry A. Pokszyk

2016-02-04 (1)_webHenry A. Pokszyk, age 96, of Arkdale, Wisconsin passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin.

Graveside services with military honors will be 11:00 a.m on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the St. Leo Catholic Cemetery in Friendship, Wisconsin.

Henry was born December 13, 1919 in Cook County, Illinois to Walenty and Kingo (Bohinski) Pokszyk.

He served in the Army Air-Force from 1941 until 1944 during WWII.

Henry married Lorraine Sitko on June 30, 1946 in Illinois.

Henry along with his wife and two sons moved to Arkdale and purchased a 100 acre working farm in 1955.

Henry took a break from farming in the late 60’s and worked for the John Ashworth Sawmill until he retired in 1984.

Henry was right in calling himself the “Old Man” because he enjoyed 96 years of a wonderful life. He spent many enjoyable hours working on his wood carvings in his custom wood working shop. Henry supplied many friends and family with his wood working creations. Henry also had a great passion for model trains and building the tracks and all the building that went along with his train community. One of them was a model of Arkdale.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Walenty & Kingo Pokszyk; wife, Lorraine Pokszyk and his son, Ronnie Pokszyk.

Survivors:
Son: Tom Pokszyk of Arkdale, Wisconsin
