Grief is the last act of love we can give to those we loved.
Where there is deep grief there was great love.

    GRIEF,
    never ends..but it changes.
It’s a passage, not a place to stay.

Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith..
It is the price of love.

My Dearest Linda, Denny and family of Aunt Glee,
What a joyous day Heaven had on January 3rd when Aunt Glee arrived! All the wonderful people who were there to greet her. Her mom and dad, her brother and sisters, absolutely everyone who knew and loved her on this earth were there to welcome her home and to celebrate her life. Aunt Glee was always one of my favorite aunts and I absolutely adored her. She had such a beautiful soul and loved all of God’s creatures and pretty much lived a simple life among her forest animals and enjoyed nature. I will miss her. I know it was very important to her to out live her father, and by golly, she made her goal! I believe that if she could send a message to us at this time, she would say, “I have lived such a wonderful and very fulfilling life! I have done and seen so many beautiful things in my life that I will always cherish. But most of all, I had three wonderful children who brought so much joy and happiness into my life. They in turn gave me such beautiful grandchildren, great grandchildren and even a great-great grand baby! WOW, what a blessed life I was given and how honored I feel for all the love that has been bestowed upon me by my family.” This is what I think she would say. She was just that kind of a wonderful person!

To Linda, Denny and all of Aunt Glee’s family members………..please know that I am so sad for your loss, and I will be keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult and sad time.

And, to my Aunt Glee…………I’m going to miss knowing that you are no longer physically on this planet. I’m going to keep you close in my thoughts though………over this past summer, I went outside early one morning. The sunlight was just barely shining through the trees. It was right at dawn. I was taken by the scene because it was foggy that morning and the sun hadn’t cut through the fog yet. I was standing behind my house with a large bowl of shucked corn in one hand and two corn cobs and a container of bird food in the other. I was still wearing my pj’s and and an old pair of tennis shoes because the grass was still wet. As I trudged out into the woods to feed the deer, squirrels, birds, ground hog and raccoon I said out loud to myself, “oh my God, I’m turning into my Aunt Glee.” But, that made me smile……..because I realized that every time I feed the critters I will think of you. So, it’s all good. And, I’m counting on you to take good care of my little Harleybug until it’s my turn for the next big adventure……I’ll see you on the other side Aunt Glee…….and, until then, just know that I’ll be thinking of you more than you know. With love to you, Holly
P.S. I adopted a new kitten……..her name is Adeline, but we call her “Addy” for short. I’m down to five kitties now.
P.S.S. I’m really glad to know that you were able to eat THREE potato dumplings for Thanksgiving. Atta’ Girl!!!!!
