Giles Edward Blankley, age 67, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Friendship, Wisconsin. Father Amalanathan will officiate. Visitation will be 12:30 until the time of Mass on Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A rosary will be held prior to the memorial.

Giles was born October 7, 1950 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Charles Frederick and Irma Marie (Rosing) Blankley. He graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin and later attended Gateway Technical College. Giles worked at Kenosha Brass before working for American Motors/Chrysler in Kenosha. Later he worked for Ganton Technologies in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. In 2005, he bartended Bindelli Tavern and Fair Oaks Farms. Giles retired to his home in Friendship in 2013.

Giles enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, reading, napping, golfing, hiking, camping, telling jokes and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an ardent Cub’s and Packer’s fan.

Giles was a member of Troop Leader for Boy Scouts #440, Camp master at Camp OH-DA-KO-TA, Volunteer for the CYO Emerald Knights, Salvation Army, and Knights of Columbus.

Memorials may be directed in Giles’s memory to the Salvation Army.

Giles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Irma; sisters: Lynn Marie and Lois; and brothers: Bruce and John Thomas.

Brother: Phillip (Shirley) Blankley of Springfield, Missouri
Further survived by several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

    To my sons, know that he is no longer suffering. We all were able to say our good byes . God did show mercy in letting him rest from the pain and suffering. God also needs to be Thanked for his mercy and grace. Be strong and don’t weep for he is at rest. For Christ conquered death in his death on the cross. He will rise again when Christ comes back and we all must go before him. Love your Mom.

    A Holy Mass will be held for the repose of his soul on Friday, September 21, 2018 at The Cathedral of St. Justus and St. Pastor and in the Alborada School Chapel in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain. There will be other services held in The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Holy Assumption, Valladolid, Spain.

    So sorry to hear about Giles. He was a nice guy always friendly and had a smile and helped out at numerous functions at Holy Rosary church & school. My father( Hank) and Giles coached basketball together at Holy Rosary well before Giles had children of his own and my father thought very highly of him.
