George Kenneth Rhinehart

George Kenneth Rhinehart, age 77, of Spooner, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Indianhead Medical Center in Shell Lake.

George was born August 12, 1938, in Wisconsin Dells to Kenneth and Beulah (Beyers) Rhinehart. He worked road construction for most of his life. He began his career working for Gasser Construction and eventually started his own road construction business called State Wide Surfacing. He also had a small farm in Monroe Center where he raised his 3 children with his first wife Sandra. In December of 1985, he married Ernelle Easterman in Hayward and added 6 more children to his family.

George enjoyed ice fishing, gardening, coon and deer hunting, picking berries so someone would make him a pie, and spending time with his family and friends playing cards, dice, and cribbage. He was an avid watcher of the O’Reilly Factor on Fox News. In recent years, he spent long hours in his garage making furniture for his family. He instilled a strong work ethic and family values in his children and grandchildren. He was a caring, loving grandfather who gave sound advice to his grandchildren. He loved his pets and treated them like gold. He was on the Crystal Town Board and continued to grade roads for the town of Crystal until March of 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Beulah Rhinehart, wife Ernelle and sister Carol Babcock.

He is survived by his daughter Connie (Ron), Sons David (Julie), Andrew (Cathy), Stepdaughters Heidi (Dan), Heather (Tony), Stepsons Chris (Karen), Ray (Terri), Jeff (Shelly), Tim (Jenny). Grandchildren Heather, Savannah, Ashley, Josh, Alexa, Hayden, Craig, Emily, Paige, Ciara, Jack, Katie, Carson. Great Grandchildren Madison, Ebony, Easton, Kinsley Brothers Chris, Jerry, Larry. Brother-in- Law Floyd Easterman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone and Crossroads Church in Spooner, WI. Visitation one hour prior to service. A luncheon will follow the service. Dahl Funeral Home is assisting the family.

The family would request that hanging baskets or plants be sent for the funeral service. Yellow River Gardens is available at 715-635-7995 to assist you. Memorials preferred to Cornerstone and Crossroads Church in Spooner, WI.
