THE SISTER BOND
What could I say in a poem for you, someone who’s been a part of me my whole life through? Who will this poem be written about? It’s my beautiful dear sister, Diane, without a doubt!
Whatever Glenn and you decided to do, I was always the baby saying “Me too Me too!”
In your kitchen culinary arts have always shown through!
Our brother Glenn is a two n Glenn. He’s been our stabilizer, our hero and friend! Courageous, hoping in Jehovah with a strong complete heart.
Nine enplaned thirty seven years ago, gut feelings made quite a show!
We have traveled the world, quite a way through. We were waifs on Route 66 when I was two! Reminiscing of your San Francisco turtle could make you blue. Oh how my heart goes out to you!
We bathed in the Canadian river wild; I was happy later I was only a child!
Pronunciation being of importance to you, a dictionary is always in view.
Majestic Purple Martin House still stands, high in the sky. In and out those birds constantly fly.
You’ve read the Bible twenty six times, cover to cover, completely through. Afterwards, always meditating on all the scriptures so true. We were baptized July 30th, 1958. The Atlantic ocean at that time felt great! We have given student talks since 1959, with Jehovah’s help, always turning out fine!
Trying each other as sisters do, always forgiving quickly before the day is through.
When applying ourselves in the field ministry, along came an Alsatian, tall brother Glenn was mistaken for a tree!
How could I compose a poem for you, without mentioning a mouse or two! Long ago there were rubber mice packed in grapes not ice! A sewer rat, a pack rat, a mention of a river rat! Remember Punchinello, a dancing finger puppet white! Black rubber rats abiding and hiding in basement storage room. Florist shop no more, a surprise in store! Families of mice showed up through Decembers ice! You were shown how to set traps once or twice. No more mice!
It’s relaxing to ponder all the fun we have had. We’ve traveled great journeys, had many splendid teas! Remember all our island fun, soaking up relaxing times and sun? There were supper clubs, how succulent we did eat! Merrimac, last free ferry, a calming relaxing treat! Historic Inns, in both Arizona and Minnesota, what special places to meet. A doggie party, yes it’s true!
I’m forever thinking of you, thinking of me. Forever remembering that sister bond, as sisters do.
