David D. Dierschow Sr.
David D. Dierschow Sr. “Dave”, age 68, of Adams, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Dave was known to many on the rendezvous circuit as “Trapper Dave” and to friends and family as “Skunk”.
A memorial gathering will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
David was born April 14, 1949 in St. Charles, Illinois to LaVern W. and Mary Jo (Dabney) Dierschow. He graduated from West Chicago Community High School in 1967.
Dave was a master carpenter and worked in many places from suburban Chicago to Dubuque Iowa to Orange County California and Central Wisconsin. He was very conscientious in his work. He also installed gutters on many buildings in this area and the Dells. After “retiring” he could be called upon to take down a tree, build a deck, or trap a varmint. His personal crusades were to get rid of invasive plant species and to protect our ground water. Garlic mustard seemed to be his worst enemy. In 1974, he built a log cabin from scratch. He cut down the trees, skinned the bark, hand mixed the concrete, roofed and chinked it. His family uses it for get-togethers annually and the younger generation “camp-out” there often.
He spent many hours working with his grandson Nicolas on various woods related projects, and teaching him to hunt. He enjoyed baking and cooking with his granddaughter Laila. He often wished he could spend more time in the woods with his granddaughter, Autumn and grandson, Ethan.
David enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, and working in the woods.
He was a proud active member of the AA Community for over 25 years.
He loved to work on his many tractors and spent most of his time managing the family woodlands.
David was preceded in death by his parents, LaVern & Mary Jo Dierschow and great niece, Emily Rose Zieche.

Dave was truly unique. I’ll always remember the days when he made me laugh hysterically about rediculous things like hippie hirogliphics and bat guano. RIP Skunk. What a funny and talented guy you were and probably still are in the afterlife. Deepest sympathies to Anne, Marla, Jane and all the Dierschow children and grandchildren.

Sending prayers and positive thoughts. I am sorry for your loss. We really enjoyed “Dierschow’s Cabin” with Boy Scout Troop 25 back in the 70’s and early 80’s. I have many fond memories there. He left us too soon, may he find peace and happy hunting grounds in heaven.
