  13. Donna says:

I am so sorry for your loss. Charlie came into the Community Center almost every day to eat lunch. He called me his “other daughter” because I am pretty sure he could not remember my name, but it was endearing and I cherished it. Just last month he told he how he and Jeanette met and how she was the only woman who could keep him loyal for all those years, him being a Navy guy and all. He never seemed sad, just happy, ornery and full of life. I loved having to tell him to behave himself and he would just give me that wave and smile. He often told stories of his life and how good his family was to him. I will miss him driving to the Community Center in his old car and now regret not taking him up on his offer for a ride. Even though he lived a long time, it still seems short. I will really miss him.
