Andrea Langrehr Engelhardt

Andrea Langrehr Engelhardt, age 51, of Oxford, Wisconsin passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018, at University of Wisconsin Hospital.

Andrea was born October 4, 1967, in Richland Center, Wisconsin to Roger and Florence (Juedes) Langrehr.  She graduated from Riverdale High School in Muscoda, Wisconsin and the Janesville School for the Blind.  She married Raymond Engelhardt on March 28, 2003, in Marquette County.

Throughout her life, Andrea has faced many medical challenges and was among the first generation of hydrocephalics to live to adulthood.  Andrea understood and appreciated that each hospitalization, complication, or shunt replacement allowed doctors to learn from her in order to help others. She faced her final struggle with ovarian cancer with a sense of humor, grace, and dignity.

Andrea is survived by her husband Raymond Engelhardt. She is also survived by her daughters Lisa, Kristina, and Megan Langrehr; brothers William (Sheri) Langrehr, and Thomas (Yong) Langrehr; sisters Mary (Tim)Brink, Margaret Miller, and Catharine Langrehr. She is further survived by brothers-in-law Charles Engelhardt and Joseph Hatfield, and sister-in-law Caroline Engelhardt; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Florence Langrehr; brother-in-law, James Miller; and father & mother-in-law, Charles & Mary Engelhardt.

Andrea was able to see the best in people always finding what made them unique and special.  She delighted in the simple things that many of us take for granted.  A walk to the lake near her home, a wildflower bouquet picked by her daughters, a special song, a beloved horse coming when called, snuggling with a pet, sharing a meal, or joking with family & friends brought her comfort and happiness. Her greatest joy was in family and seeing her daughters grow and thrive.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Condolences

  1. SD says:

My sincere condolences to the family Engelhardt for the loss of your beloved mother Andrea. Sharing this message from the Bible where our God Jehovah promised a resurrection for our loved one in Acts 24:15, and give everlasting life here on the earth made a paradise Psalms 37:11,29, God made these promises and in a near future it will be fulfilled, while we wait for these wonderful blessings that the peace of our God be with the family.

A wonderful obituary; it describes her perfectly. She was generally in good humor no matter what was going on around. A very remarkable person. She found comfort in knowing the Lord.
