Norma Iona Anderson Pourchot

Norma Iona Anderson Pourchot passed away Thursday, September 22nd, 2016 in the hospital at Portage, Wisconsin after a long battle with illness. She was 85.

A beloved mother, wife of 67 years and teacher, Norma lived her life by example in how she treated others with kindness and compassion and was a faithful believer in God.

Norma was born June 16th, 1931 to George (Bunny) Anderson and Alice (Heath) Anderson of Bulpitt, Illinois.

She met her husband, Gene Pourchot, in Bulpitt, Illinois. They married in Charleston, Illinois on April 16, 1949.

Gene and Norma raised 7 kids:
Linda Nesvacil and husband Gary of Wisconsin Dells, Jim Pourchot and wife Susie of Montello, Judy Amidon of Fox Lake, Jeff Rogers and wife Juanita of Friendship, Mary Walter and husband Cal of Mesick, Michigan, Becky Howland and husband John of Fall River, and Jason Pourchot and wife Melinda of South Beloit, Illinois.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, George (Bunny) and Alice Anderson, and her youngest sister, Carolyn.

She worked with her husband, Gene at their family owned Pourchot Auction Service and Community Auction Barn since they established it in 1965.

Norma’s passion was to gather her family together with family get-togethers as often as possible, where they would visit, tell stories, laugh and play her favorite board games of Aggravation & Scrabble, and share a meal.

She was a devoted and loving wife and mother who loved to be surrounded by her family. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, reading and playing board games with her family.

Norma was a soft spoken, loving woman, whose main concern was the happiness of her family, who loved and adored her. She was loved and befriended by everyone she ever met or knew.
