Ethel Mae (Jensen) Bucek, May 2, 1934 - March 3, 2009. Beloved daughter of Ottar and Doris (Christiansen) Jensen. Preceded in death by son, Brian; brothers, Clifford, Marvin, Walter and Kermit; sisters, Mildred and Gladys. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Bernard; son, Jeffrey Bucek; daughters, Melanie Cromwell and Maria (Randy) Orr; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kayleigh, Anthony and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Trystan and Connor; sisters, Evelyn and Norma; brother, Wilbur; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Ethel was salutatorian of her high school class at Adams-Friendship High School in Wisconsin and valedictorian of her nursing class at Lutheran Deaconess Hospital in Chicago, IL. She dedicated her life to serving others, both through nursing and her day to day life. After the tragic loss of her son, she started the West Michigan Survivors of Suicide (WMSOS) and brought comfort to many. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7 at Christ Lutheran Church with family hour from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Christ Lutheran Church, West Michigan Survivors of Suicide or NAMI of Kent County will be appreciated. The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ofield Funeral Home. Ofield Funeral Home
