Edward
Martin Aksamit, age 89, of Big Flats, Wisconsin (formerly of
Chicago, IL) died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the Tomah VA
Medical Center in Tomah, Wisconsin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:30 p.m. on Saturday,
October 11, 2008 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in
Friendship, Wisconsin. Father James P. McNamee will
officiate. Interment will be at the St. Leo�s Catholic
Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin. Military rites will be
offered at the cemetery by the Adams County Honor Squad.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 12 Noon until the
time of Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Edward was born October 18, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to
Walter John and Mary (Piejchala)
Stanczyk. He married Stephanie Kosiek on May 1, 1939 in
Chicago, IL. Edward was a veteran of WWII, serving in the
Army in the European Theater of War. The couple moved to
Adams County in 1974.
Edward was a patriotic World War II veteran and was a
member of the Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250.
Edward was lover of animals, children, and his fellow man.
He will be missed by his constant four-legged companion of
eleven years, his dog Clover.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Walter John
and Mary (Piejchala) Stanczyk; and his beloved wife of fifty
years, Stephanie Aksamit.
Edward was Beloved father of Edward F. Aksamit; loving
father-in-law to Victoria Aksamit and beloved grandfather of
Amanda and Abigail Aksamit.
