LeRoy John Swiatly Sr., age 90, of Grand Marsh, Wisconsin died Friday, July 18, 2008 at the Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston, Wisconsin.

 

Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. John Stake will officiate. Military rites will be offered by the Adams County Honor Guard.

 

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Roseberry's Funeral Home.

 

LeRoy was born February 1, 1918 in Illinois.  He was a veteran of WWII, serving his county

3 months PVT. Basic 1 Year PFC medical Tech. 409  5year 3 months PFC surgical Tech. 861

LeRoy married Redempta Elorza del Villar on June 14, 1946 in Chicago, IL.  He worked at Magnaflux Corp. in Chicago, IL for many years; He also drove a school bus for St. Vincent De Paul for many years before moving to Grand Marsh in 1980.

 

LeRoy enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses, carving, building things, square dancing, and camping.

 

He was a member of the moose lodge for over 25 years, and a former Boy Scout Leader.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; wife Redempta, son LeRoy Jr. grandson Frank and; many brothers and sisters.

Grandchild:  Jason Domres of Bensenville, Illinois

Grandchild:  Jodi Domres of Wood Dale, Illinois

Grandchild:  Eric (Sara) Swiatly of Norwalk, Wisconsin

Grandchild:  Brian Swiatly of Sparta, Wisconsin

Grandchild:  David Swiatly of Sparta, Wisconsin

Grandchild:  Gordon (Tammy) Swiatly of Grand Marsh, Wisconsin

Grandchild:  Darryl Swiatly of Adams, Wisconsin

Daughter-in-law:  Dorothy (Robert) Gerke of Sparta, Wisconsin

Further survived by many great grand children, nieces, nephew, other relatives, and many friends.
