Gilbert J. Klein, age 89, of White Creek, Wisconsin died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Friends may visit at Roseberry�s Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Military rites will be offered on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand Marsh American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273.

Interment will be Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008 at the Forest Hill Memorial Park, Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

Gil was born August 5, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Joseph and Rose (Koch) Klein. Gil grew up in Milwaukee and enlisted in the Navy Air Corps in 1940, he served two years on Guadalcanal and New Caleddonia and spent the remainder of his service at the Glenview Naval Air Base in Chicago, IL. He married Gladys Baumgardt on September 6, 1941 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Gil worked at Wisconsin Electric Co. from Sept. 13, 1945 to Sept. 30, 1981.  He began as a trouble shooter for the Wisconsin Electric Co. and at his retirement after 36 years of service, was a desk foreman for Electric distribution.

Gil was a mason and past commander of Ivanhoe Commandry. He enjoyed hunting and fishing to the extent that he and his family moved to Adams County 29 years ago. Gil and Gladys are lifetime members of the AF VFW Post #6279, and loved their bingo nights. Every problem was a challenge to Gil that he would try to conquer to the best of his ability and most times, he won.

Gil was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daniel Klein.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the Adams VFW Post #6279.

Daughter: Cindra Brody of Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Son: Randall Klein of Adams, Wisconsin

Grandchild: Wyatt (Jennifer) Klein of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Grandchild: Bryan Klein of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Great-Grandchild: Zackary Klein of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Great-Grandchild: Alyssa Klein of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Great-Grandchild: Lukas Anderson-Klein of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Sister: Gwen (Robert) Mertz of CA
