Lawrence G. Oberholtzer, age 76, of Adams, Wisconsin passed into eternal rest on December 11, 2008 at his home in Adams, Wisconsin. Private family Memorial services will be held at a later date.

 

Lawrence was born May 14, 1932 in North Prairie, Wisconsin to Archie and Veleda (Cole) Oberholtzer.

 

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

 

Lawrence was a member of the Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church.

 

Lawrence retired from the Big Flats Fire Department serving as firefighter and treasurer. He was a member of the American Legion Red Cloud Post 250 where he was a past commander, vice-commander, treasurer and honor guard member. He also was a retired treasurer for the Town of Big Flats.

 

 

He  was preceded in death by: His parents; Archie and Veleda Oberholtzer, aunts, uncles and cousins.

   

Survivors:

Wife:  Shirley Jean Jobe-Oberholtzer of Adams, Wisconsin

Son:  Jeff (Sue) Oberholtzer of Colorado

Daughter:  Laura (Doug) Bergevain of Wisconsin

Son:  James (Cindy) Oberholtzer of Ohio

Step-Daughter:  Debra (Jon) Woolley of Washington

Step-Son:  Michael Jobe of Wisconsin

Step-Son:  Kirt (Stacey) Jobe of Arizona

Grandchildren:  10 

Great-Grandchildren:  6 

Aunt:  Ellie (Don) Bredlow of Wisconsin

Sister-in-Law:  Peggy (John) Massard of Illinois

Brother-in-Law:  Phil (Katie) Baker of Arkansas

Brother-in-law:  Gary (Gwen) Baker of Arkansas

Further survived by many:  cousins, nieces, nephews and friends
