Charles
Irvin York, age 66, of Green Lake, Wisconsin died Thursday,
April 3, 2008 at the Markesan Residential Facility in
Markesan, Wisconsin.
Funeral services
will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Adams
Trinity Congregational Church in Adams, Wisconsin. Rev.
Richard Corning will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt.
Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin. Military rites will
be offered by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the Adams American
Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand Marsh American
Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273.
Visitation will
be 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 7th, at
Roseberry�s Funeral Home.
Charles was born
October 7, 1940 in Woodstock, Illinois to Ronald and Cleo
(Smith) York. He served nearly 5 years in the Army (Ft
Collin, CO / Ft Bragg, NC / Ft Campbell, KY / Wiesbaden Army
Airfield in Mainz, Germany). Charles married Darnella Dianne
Poff on March 28, 1964. He graduated the apprentice program
at Wisconsin Power & Light where he retired as a lineman
supervisor after 30 years.
Charles enjoyed
hunting, fishing and playing in cribbage tournaments.
Charles was
preceded in death by his parents; Grandson, Shane Eveland;
Brothers: Robert, Neltson, and Neal; and sisters: Roberta
and Penny.
