Gordon was born minutes before his twin sister, Gloria
Jean Sardeson Clark on March 26, 1922 in Blanchardville, WI
to Lisle C. and Borghild Gundersen Sardeson.
He was a graduate of Bellville High School in 1941 and
just after completing high school, he was drafted into the
service where he served as staff sergeant in the 165th
Infantry until 1945.
Following his return from the service, Gordon went onto
college at the University of Wisconsin, Platteville where he
received a B.S. in 1949, and the University of Wisconsin,
Madison where he earned an M.S. in 1952.
He taught and coached in the Pardeeville schools from
1949 to 1954 and served as an administrator of the Viola
Public Schools from 1954 to 1958. For the next 27 years,
from 1958 to 1985, Gordon served as the Superintendent of
the Adams-Friendship School District. During that time, he
was instrumental in consolidating Adams-Friendship schools
and was an avid A-F sports fan.
Gordon himself was an outstanding athlete in high school
and was the catcher for the Platteville Cardinals while a
student at Platteville. While he especially loved baseball
and was lifetime fan of his beloved Cubbies, he also
followed the Wisconsin Badger football team as a season
ticket holder for over 40 years.
Gordon became engaged to his high school sweetheart
Marian June Schrepfer of Belleville, WI, when he returned
from overseas and married her in the next year on August 24,
1946. After nearly 50 years of marriage and raising a family
together, June sadly passed away in 1994.
In 1998, Gordon married again and has
been happily married since to Marion Halverson.
He is survived by his second wife,
Marion Halverson Sardeson, and two daughters Susan Kay

of Amherst. Gordon also leaves behind four beloved
grandchildren Gabriela Kubik (attending Smith College in
Northampton, MA), Marisa Kubik of White Bear Lake, MN,
