Roy Joseph Sersen, age 82, of New Lisbon, Wisconsin died Thursday, August 2, 2007 at his home following a long battle with cancer.

Private family services are planned.

Roy was born March 24, 1925 in Cary, Illinois to Joseph and Lillian (Cahpek) Sersen. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army in the European Theater of War. Roy fought with the 79th Infantry Division as a B.A.R. man and received two battle stars. He married Cecilia Ann Pesek on August 26, 1950 in Cary, IL. The couple made their home in Crystal Lake, IL. The couple retired to Wisconsin in 1972 and eventually settled in rural New Lisbon.

Roy owned Cary Heating and Sheet Metal in Cary, IL for many years.

Roy had a passion for wood carving and painting, was an avid outdoorsman, and loved his home in the country. He enjoyed farming, gardening, spending time with his family and especially his two grandchildren. He accomplished much in his life time and did it well.

Son: Paul J. Sersen of New Lisbon, Wisconsin

Daughter: Cathlene M. (Arne) Bengtson of Crystal Lake, IL

Sister: Mildred Sersen of Scottsdale, AZ

Grandchild: Anna Bengtson of Crystal Lake, IL

Grandchild: Ryan Bengtson of Crystal Lake, IL
