William "Bill" Claude Mattox, age 54, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mauston, Wisconsin. Pastor Collin Vanderhoof will officiate. Interment will be at the Hancock Cemetery, Hancock, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Roseberry's Funeral Home and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Bill was born January 31, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Roy N. and Sarah I. (Button) Mattox. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School in West Allis, WI, and later attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Bill worked at Lewis Container (now known as Smurfit-Stone Castle Rock Container) for 33 years. He married Sharon Cook on October 11, 1986 in St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Mauston, WI.

Bill enjoyed photography, camping, hunting and fishing, traveling, coaching Girls Little League and girl�s basketball, watching the Green Bay Packers, playing the violin, listening to all kinds of music, watching his grandchildren�s ballet performances and sporting events, attending Hodag in Rhinelander, WI and researching his family�s genealogy. He was active in many community events including Gus Macker, Pumpkin Walk, and many sporting events.

Bill was a member of the Roche-A-Cri Friends of the Park and St. Paul�s Ev. Lutheran Church

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Sarah Mattox; many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Grandchild: Victoria Collins of Adams, Wisconsin

Grandchild: Mikayla Schultz of Friendship, Wisconsin

Sister: MaryLou McLaughlin of Adams, Wisconsin

Niece: Lillian (Larry) Challoner of Adams, Wisconsin
