Zofia Jozefa Gwardys

Zofia Jozefa Gwardys, 88, of Belvidere, IL passed away Monday, August 03, 2015, at her home. She was born July, 2 1927 in Osada Polotnica, Poland. The daughter of Bronislaw and Jozefa Tazbir. She married Eugene Gwardys March 31, 1948 in England. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Friendship, WI and St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, planting flowers, canning, pickling, and was a wonderful cook. She is survived by children, Jozefa (Zbigniew) Rzemieniecki of Bloomingdale, IL, Stan (Mary) Gwardys of Belvidere, IL, and Bronislaw (Karen) Gwardys of Litchfield Park, AZ; grandchildren, Gregory (Christina) Rzemieniecki, Magdalene (Jason) Fitzgerald, Christopher (Kelly) Rzemieniecki, Adam Gwardys, Teresa Gwardys, Amanda (Tom) Cook, and Brandon (Tuyet Lam) Gwardys; great-grandchildren, Owen and Hannah Rzemieniecki, Lucas, Emma, and Olivia Fitzgerald, Abbigail Nemeth, Trey and Aspen Cook. She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 62 years, Eugene Gwardys; brothers and sisters. There will be a visitation Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Belvidere Funeral Home Inc. in Belvidere, IL. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. Interment in St. Leo’s Catholic Cemetery in Friendship Wisconsin on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 12:00 P.M.
