Thelma A. Zimbeck, age 93, of Bancroft, Wisconsin died Thursday, May 14, 2015 at her home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Hancock Wesleyan Church in Hancock, Wisconsin. Pastor Eric Hambrock will officiate. Interment will be at the New Chester Cemetery, Town of New Chester, Adams County, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be Monday at the Hancock Wesleyan Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Thelma was born September 11, 1921 in Friendship, Wisconsin to Willis and Mable (Lord) Carlton. She married Kenneth George Zimbeck on September 16, 1937 in Brooks, Wisconsin. The couple lived in Oxford, WI for a few years before moving to their farm in Leola Township of Adams County. Thelma worked as a cook at several area restaurants for many years, retiring when she was 78.

Thelma enjoyed cooking, decorating cakes, gardening, singing, listening to music, and watching the church service on her television.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Mabel Carlton; husband, Kenneth Zimbeck Sr.;
sister, Helen Olson; brother, Burtis Carlton; sister, Lottie Larson; brother, Freddy Carlton; and sister, Bonnie Carlton.

Son: Kenneth (Fern) Zimbeck of Bancroft, Wisconsin
Daughter: Nancy (Edward) Wise of Covington, Ohio
Son: Dennis (Sandi) Zimbeck of Cedar, Minnesota
Son: Daniel Zimbeck of Bancroft, Wisconsin
Sister-in-law: Belva Carlton of Friendship, Wisconsin
Grandchildren: 13
Great-Grandchildren: 26
Great-Great-Grandchildren: 4
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    So sorry to hear about Aunt Thelma! She was always a delight to visit with…so sassy and high spirited!! She’s with her loved ones in heaven now! I will be unable to make it to the funeral since I live in Tennessee and Bob, my hubby just recently had shoulder surgery! God Bless and stay strong!!
