Sarah Irwin

Sarah Lee Irwin (nee Kight), loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on September 2nd surrounded by her family at the St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, WI. She was 80 years old.

Sarah was born in Uvalda, Georgia on January 31, 1935. She met Mort Irwin while he was stationed in the U.S. Army in Georgia. They were married on December 24, 1953 and moved to Wisconsin. She worked part time at the Oregon Veterinary Clinic, though her main focus in life was raising her three boys. Mort and Sarah retired on Lake Petenwell where Sarah loved fishing and feeding stray cats.
Her family are her pride and joy. The marvelous bond they all shared was rare, wonderful and something each of them will be forever grateful for.

She is survived by sons, Rick (Joan), Charles (Mary Jo) and; grandchildren, January Muetz (Pat), Jillian Yeske (Luke), Shawn Irwin (Courtney), Chase Irwin, Kelly Irwin; great-grandson Logan Irwin and great granddaughters, Lilly and Ruby Muetz and Courtney Phillippi, brothers Joseph Kight (Gerri), Leon Kight, sister Julia Dees.

She was preceded in death by her husband Morton, son Thomas, parents Marcus and Sarah Lou (nee Avant) Kight, brother James Kight, and sisters Rudene Parker and Louise Pinkerton.

All are welcome to join the family for a gathering on September 8th at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service at 11:00 with Pastor Karen Hofstad officiating at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Baraboo.
Memorials may be made in Sarah’s name to St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo. Please make checks payable to Home Health United Hospice.

    You have my deepest sympathy, I just returned from vacation, and read of Sarah’s passing, and am so sorry I wasn’t able to,attent the service. I was a hospice volunteer with Mort, and enjoyed spending time with both him and Sarah, they were both wonderful people. Please know I am thinking of all of you during this difficult time. May it ease your sorrow to know that they are togethher again, at peace. You are so blessed to have had such wonderful parents. May your memories bring you comfort.
