scan_McLain webSandra J. McLain, age 65, of Grand Marsh, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 16, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the St. Anne Catholic Church in Brooks, Wisconsin. Father James P. McNamee & Msgr. John Hebl will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Brooks. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Tuesday at St. Anne Catholic Church.

Sandra was born January 14, 1950 in Baraboo, Wisconsin to Bruno and Rosemary (Svoboda) Steponkus.

She graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1968. Sandra then went to beauty school in Madison and worked in the Madison area. She returned to the Adams area after marrying Thomas C. McLain. They were married on July 22, 1972 in Adams, Wisconsin and were blessed with two children, Jessica & Gregory.

Sandra worked various jobs in the Adams area before returning to school to complete her Certified Nursing Assistant degree. She worked for Northland Home Health for almost 17 years before her retirement in December of 2014.
Sandra enjoyed gardening, flowers, traveling, and socializing with friends and family. She especially enjoyed her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant where she cared for many people and made many friends.
Sandra was preceded in death by her son, Gregory McLain; parents, Bruno & Rosemary Steponkus and Father & Mother-in-law, Howard & Marie McLain.
Survivors:
Husband: Thomas McLain of Grand Marsh, Wisconsin
Daughter: Jessica McLain of Baraboo, Wisconsin
Brother: Ronald (Barbara) Steponkus of Edgerton, Wisconsin
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandra’s name to the Adams County Humane Society or the Adams County Education Foundation.
