Russell Jule Borths, age 70, of Necedah, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Serenity House in Tomah, Wisconsin with his daughter, Theresa and son Rusty by his side.

Memorial services will be 12 Noon on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Father Joseph Redfern will officiate. Friends may call at Roseberry’s on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Russell was born September 10, 1943 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Felix and Anna (Henry) Borths. Following the passing of his father, his mother married Joe Pietzak and together they raised Russell and his siblings in Necedah. He married Audrey Darlene Bode Withers on August 24, 1968 in Necedah, Wisconsin. Together they raised her children and their children together.

Russell served six years in the National Guard 732D Maintenance Battalion (1964-1970). While serving, he earned his automotive repair license and his Rifle M-1 sharpshooter qualification.

Russell worked at Becker Forest Products in Necedah for 40 years. Russell was a very hard worker, but he always made sure to take time off for the walleye run every spring.

Russell enjoyed watching the Packers, listening to the Brewers, and hunting. He thoroughly enjoyed his trips to Montana for elk hunting (and to visit his family), and having an ice cold Old Milwaukee with his friends and family.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Anna Borths; wife, Audrey Darlene Borths; three brothers: Ralph, Henry, and Clifford; four sisters: Alice, Laverne, Maysel, Marcella; step-daughter, Sherry Withers; and step-father, Joseph Pietzak.

Step-son: Jerry Withers of Spencer, Iowa
Step-daughter: Nylene Howell of Mauston, Wisconsin
Brother: Leroy (Rose Mary) Borths of Manitowoc, Wisconsin
Brother: Marvin Borths of Nekoosa, Wisconsin
Sister: Dolores Grall of Manitowoc, Wisconsin
Sister: Sandy (Frank) Bezemek of Necedah, Wisconsin
Many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

    I am very sorry to hear of Russ’s passing. It seems like yesterday back in the 70’s when we would all sit in our dad’s semi’s and talk to each other on the CB radios planning our next game of horse behind Rockview school. Of course, we would have to shovel off the court first. Those were good days. I know that Russ was a hard working man that provided well for his family. I remember Russ as a fair and just man.
