Richard M. “Scotty” Skotzke, age 87, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in
Marshfield. He was born in Milwaukee on June 10, 1927, to John and Victoria (Horzewski) Skotzke.Scotty grew up in Milwaukee and married the love of his life Audrey (Matuszewski) in Milwaukee on November 22, 1952. He worked at Allen-Bradley for 18 years until moving to Friendship in 1969. He worked various jobs over the years, but most enjoyed working as custodian and bus driver for the Adams-Friendship school district until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was past Grand Knight and Treasurer.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. We will always remember the great family vacations. He loved to talk with everyone he met about his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his many travels and great times he had with co-workers and friends. He was generous with his time in helping in community activities.
He is survived by his sister Arlene (John) Ostrenga of Spring Hill, Florida, his children Patricia (Douglas) Reichhoff of Friendship, Michael (Carol) Skotzke of Madison, Steven (Cindi) Skotzke of Phillips, Martin (Kathleen) Skotzke of Oregon, Janice Cokely of Sun Prairie and Laurie (William) Schroeder of Arkdale, his grandchildren Sheila (Bill) McGlothlin, Kimberly Reichhoff, Michelle Skotzke, Kristyn (Broc) Snow, Kayla Skotzke, Nicholas Skotzke, Ryan Skotzke, Joseph Skotzke, Timothy Cokely, Willa (Benjamin) Pribel and Wendy (Gordon) Reitz, great-grandchildren William, EiLynn and Liam McGlothlin, Brayden Reichhoff-Frazier, Bryce and Brooklyn Snow, Hanna Pribel, nephews John, Paul and Michael Ostrenga and families, special friends Lois Biedrzycki and family, Russell Screnock, Harriet Winter and many other friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey, his parents, brother, Frank, grandson, Lee Michael Cokely and special friends Edward “Red” Biedrzycki and Marcella Meidenbauer.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 807 W. Lake St., Friendship, Wisconsin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015, with Father James McNamee officiating. Visitation will be held at Roseberry’s Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015, with a rosary at 6:40 and prayer service at 7:00, and again on Friday at the Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Rest in peace with the Lord Scotty. You will always have a special place in my heart and I will always remember your kind and loving personality. You always greeted me with a hug and a kiss. A Godfather and friend who never forgot my birthday and always said goodbye with “love you!”

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. He was definitely a good dad/father who I will miss. I’ll remember family vacations when I was young loading up the 55 Chevy station wagon/with no air traveling the country. Yep, we did the west and Canada with dad, mom, six kids, and a tent camper. Wow, it was the start of many good years with dad and mom that my brothers, sisters, and I will not forget. Our prayers are with you dad and mom.

So sorry for your loss. I was so fortunate to get to know Scotty. Such a wonderful man who adored his family. He will truly be missed by so many people, he touched so many lives.
My thoughts and prayers to Scotty’s Family. He drove one of the buses for my class for many years. Then after he retired he would come and read to my students every year for Dr. Seuss’s birthday. He had a special way with our very special students. Scotty will be missed!

My deepest Condolences to the Skotzke family on the passing of Mr. Skotzke. I remember playing with Janice when I was growing up in Cottonville and they owned the Cottonville Store and after they sold it. He was such a nice man.. He always made me feel like one of the family. I am so sorry for your loss. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.. He now is with his Audrey. Rest in Peace..
