Natalia Cristina (Alvarez) Sherd

Natalia Cristina (Alvarez) Sherd, age 34, of Baraboo, Wisconsin died Monday, July 6, 2015 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin following an accident at her work.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. Mark Stevens will officiate.

Visitation will be Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Following the services, Natalia will be transported to Colombia in order to be laid to rest in her native home. Interment will be at the Fields of Peace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, Medellin, Colombia.

Natalia was born July 14, 1980 in Medellin, Colombia to Bernardo Alvarez and Maria Correa. Prior to meeting Matt, Natalia studied Psychology while living with her sister, Luisa and their mother. Matt and Natalia met for the first time at a restaurant in Colombia in 2006. He proposed to her on July 5, 2007 at a park in Medellin, Colombia. They were married on October 4, 2010, in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Natalia and Matt did not know each other’s language when they met, but Natalia took English classes after they met to better communicate in their relationship.

Matt wanted it known, that Natalia was a very loving person, and that they had a near perfect marriage.

Natalia was a homebody, and loved her home in Baraboo where she loved to spend time with Matt. She also enjoyed gardening, grilling out, camping, traveling, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.

Natalia was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Natalia was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Billie Verle Sherd; and brother-in-law, Brice Sherd.

Further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives, co-workers, and friends both here and in Colombia.
