Condolences

  1. Kay & Joel Aanensen says:

We were also cousins, her Mom and my Dad were brother and sister. And she was one of my best friends, although there might have been times she would have disputed that — especially when she went for a helicopter ride with my new husband. We made quite a few road trips together, and they always had to include at least one thrift shop, one fabric shop, and lunch. If we didn’t have lunch it didn’t count. She inspired me to try some new things as I am sure she inspired many students over the years. God speed. Mildred, until we meet again.

  2. Donna Wood says:

My sincere condolences to Mildred’s family. She was my third grade teacher at Davis Corners School, and later a colleague – as we both taught in the Wisconsin Dells School District until retirement. My prayers are with her family.

  3. Rita Bloomfield says:

I conferred with Mildred about the Bloomfields coming from Dolan, South Dakota. I had passed through there and thought this was the where they had once lived. The townsfolk were so kind to me when I asked about the history of the area, and they gave me a book commemorating a Dolan celebration. Mildred spoke of her teaching days in Briggsville, and she was going to show me the spot where Owen J Gromme painted his famous wildlife art. We never made that trip, but I will never forget some of the conversations we had, My sympathy to her family.

  4. Barbara Terry says:

We were cousins. Her mother and my grandma were sisters. My family enjoyed many great times with her. Family dinners, thrift shopping, and visiting relatives in Ohio were a few of the treasured memories we hold on to. She was a great teacher and friend to many. She will truly be missed.

  5. Cue says:

I’m so sorry for the loss of your loved one. May you all receive comfort from God. May Revelation 21:3-5 provide you with some encouragement and hope.

  6. Bret Anderson says:

She was my teacher in grade school at the Wisconsin Dells Grade School in the 60’s. My condolences to the family!

  7. Jeanne Eichenseer says:

Mildred’s husband died suddenly years ago and she often mentioned how much she missed him. She was occupied with researching her family history for many years. Besides the many cats–domesticated and feral–who were her companions, in her later years my brother, Lloyd Bloomfield, served to help her maintain her independence.

  8. Jodi Helgeson and James Grabarski says:

Mildred was a frequent visitor in my office (Adams Co Register of Deeds) as she was doing family research. I can still remember seeing her parents daily as I attended Roche-a-Cri Grade School. I have missed her these last several years. My sympathy to you.

  9. Liisa Kirk says:

I taught with Mildred and Helene Bloss at Briggsville during the 1980-81 school year.
We formed a strong friendship that year. I’m sorry to hear of her passing.

  10. Charles & Karen Church says:

Mildred’s family – At once time I knew Mildred very well while working with the Adams County Historical Society. Mildred was a wonderful lady. I wish I had known her when she was young. Her family will be in my thoughts and prayers in days ahead.
