Melvin L. Jones

Jones pic_webMelvin L. Jones, age 81, of Adams, Wisconsin died Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adams, Wisconsin. Pastor Mark Benning will officiate. Interment will be at the Hancock Cemetery, Hancock, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Church.

Melvin was born September 12, 1932 in Adams County, Wisconsin to Ralph and Norah (Zaudke) Jones.

He graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1950 and was then drafted into the United States Army in 1951 serving as a combat engineer during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1953.

Melvin married Dianne Mae Golz on April 1, 1956 in Princeton, Wisconsin. Dianne preceded him in death on September 25, 2002. In May of 2003 he married Donna Richter.

He was self-employed as a carpenter doing construction for over 50 years.
Melvin was a very hard worker who enjoyed working with wood. He also enjoyed hunting & fishing.

Melvin was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph & Norah Jones; wife, Dianne Jones; brother-in-law, Paul Weber; brother-in-law, Garth Sigourney and brother-in-law, William Kirsenlohr.

Granddaughter: Kirsten (Scott) Dieckhoff of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin
Grandson: Bill Jones of Green Lake, Wisconsin
Grandson: Brian Jones of Green Lake, Wisconsin
Sister: Dorothy Weber of Portage, Wisconsin
Sister: Thelma Sigourney of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Sister: Joyce Kirsenlohr of Friendship, Wisconsin
Further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
