Lucille’s heart and soul have always been in Central Wisconsin near the little town of Arpin where she grew up. There, she and her parents and her younger brother John lived and worked on a dairy farm. They enjoyed membership in the local 4-H Club and attended a one-room schoolhouse. In 1940, Lucille was named Wood County’s Dairy Queen, an honor in the Wisconsin Dairy Industry.

In June of 1947, Lucille married George Schwark, whom she met at her bookbinding job in Chicago. They decided to take up permanent residence in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where George’s family members lived. They had one daughter, Connie, and Lucille became active in the extra curricular activities at her schools and at St. Matthew’s Church where they were members. They lived in Milwaukee for about 40 years.

In their later retirement years, Lucille and George lived in Florida during the winter months. There they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. After Connie and her family moved to the Dade City area, they spent most of their time there. During many of those years, Lucille volunteered at the University Ministry office at Saint Leo University.

Lucille’s favorite pastime was sewing. She made clothes for her daughter and baby grandson years ago and, recently, designed and made heirloom dolls. She also liked photography and was very proud of her extensive collection of autographed movie star photos from the 1930’s through the 1970’s.

Lucille will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and to her Catholic faith. She was also a loyal friend, keeping in touch with those she knew, even as far back as her early childhood.

Lucille is survived by her daughter Connie (Schwark) Sliger and her husband Sam, her grandson Nathan Dumar, her brother John Reed and his wife Susan, her niece Kathy (Reed) Cochran, and cousins Dorothy Reed, Larry Reed, and Lorraine (Reed) Potter. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Elaine Crivello and Gloria Cottrell, as well as nieces Wendy Blish, Kelly Frey, Becky Barth, Nancy Christiansen, and Julie Covi; and nephews Greg Schwark, Scott Schwark, Randy Schwark, Gary Schwark, and Ken Schwark.
