Leon Bonnin

Leon passed away at his home in rural Friendship on April 18, 2013, after a short struggle with cancer.

A Memorial Service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Adams on May 1, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Leon was born on August 3rd , 1928 to Lawrence and Ruth (Pagel) Bonnin, in New London. At an early age, the family moved to Neenah. Leon attended elementary school in Neenah. Leon lived in Neenah, with his parents until he was in his forties. The family then moved to a farm near Waupaca.

After Leon’s father’s death in 1988, Leon lived in various care facilities, and came to Friendship in 2006. Upon his arrival in Friendship, he made his home at the Kronstedt Adult Family Home.

Leon joined the Immanuel Lutheran Church in 2007. Leon enjoyed playing the organ After services at the church. Throughout the course of his life, Leon enjoyed listening to music, and playing the organ, piano and accordion.

Leon and his music will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Nathan, Lowell, Robbin, and his sister, Natalie.

    He was a very gifted musician in his time. Music and playing the organ was his greatest joy. It was amazing how he knew and could play any hymn, Christmas or oldies song from memory and in any key. R.I.P. Leon!!
