Kathleen Butterbrodt

Kathleen “Kathy” M. Butterbrodt (Oleson) age 62 died peacefully surrounded by family at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, WI on March 27, 2015 due to complications of Multiple Sclerosis.

Kathy was born to Wally and Gerri Oleson on June 28, 1952 whom she respected and loved dearly. Graduating from Assumption High School in 1970, she went on to work in the Port Edwards Paper Mill. This is where she was blessed to meet her husband Reginald “Reggie” Butterbrodt. They were married June 21, 1979. Their love and dedication to each other is a testament to the bond of marriage in sickness and in health.

Kathy gave life to daughter Kimberly, and was a proud Grandmother to Haley and Abigail Strickland.
Her disease took from her the ability to travel, and make the best cream puffs, however, as a woman of faith; Kathy enjoyed the simple things in life. Kathy loved to read, watch the birds and the squirrels outside her window, and spend time with her beloved animals; Dallas, Underfoot, and Odie. She also enjoyed spending hours on the phone with her lifelong friend Brenda Hoffmann.

Kathy is survived by her husband and caregiver Reginald, (Nekoosa, WI), Mother, Gerri Oleson (Rudolph, WI),Daughter Kimberly (James) Strickland (Mosinee, WI), Step-daughter Connie Butterbrodt (Phoenix, AZ), Grand-daughters Haley and Abby, Brothers, Michael (Barbara) Oleson (Mosinee, WI), Kenneth (Sandra) Oleson (Wisconsin Rapids, WI), God-child Steven Livernash (Wisconsin Rapids, WI), Aunts Beverly Wolf, Janice Steidel, and Donna Livernash, Uncle Eugene (Shirley) Oleson, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Wallace “Wally” Oleson.

Upon Kathy’s request there will be no services. A special thank you goes out to friends and family who throughout the years lifted her up through prayer.

“After you have suffered a little while, our God, who is full of kindness through Christ, will give you his eternal glory. He personally will come and pick you up, and set you firmly in place, and make you stronger than ever. To him be all power over all things forever and ever. Amen.”

I am sending my thoughts and prayers to the Oleson family. When I heard about Kathy’s passing I was so taken. Kathy was always next to me in school because of our last names (Oleson, Olski) at Assumption. She had such a creamy complexion that I thought was so pretty. Having MS myself but not as progressive, I still have bad days but not as bad as Kathy had. I think her Dad wanted her by his side and they are both are pain free and surrounded by angels, how special that must be for them both.
