Katherine Reffue

Katherine Antonia (Farina) Reffue, formerly of Beloit, Wi, passed away on March 28, 2015, at Villa Pines Living Center, in Friendship, Wi.

She was born on February 13, 1922 in Beloit, Wi, the daughter of Mattia and Vita (Angeleri) Farina; she married Russell H. Reffue on February 21, 1943 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beloit, Wi. Together they raised two children, Raymond and Clarissa.

Kate and Russ were members of Trinity Lutheran Church, where Russ was a Deacon and Kate was a Sunday school teacher. She was involved in the LWML and Ladies Aid Society there. She enjoyed working at Sears in the Beloit Mall, when both of her children were in high school. After Russ retired from the Beloit Foundry in South Beloit, Il; they moved to Dellwood, Wi. There they became members of United In Christ Lutheran Church. Kate was also a member of the Ladies Circle at the Church. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Kate liked to crochet, sew, and make crafts with the Ladies Circle at the Church.

She survived  by her son, Raymond (Debbie) Reffue of Roscoe, Il; her daughter Clarissa (Bernard) Anderson of Beloit, Wi; her brother Jack (Sue) Farina of Beloit, Wi; brother in law Paul Milatzo of Janesville, Wi; sister in law Evelyn Satness of Durand, Il.; granddaughter Sherry (Mike) Machones of Beloit, Wi; granddaughter Jennifer (Joseph) Rodriguez of South Beloit, Il.; grandson Jason Reffue of Florida; grandson Jullian Reffue of Florida; grandson Miguel Reffue of Illinois; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased in death by her patents, her husband Russell, who died on September 2, 2011; sister Rose (Farina, DeNoto) Lannon of Beloit, Wi; sister Vita (Farina) Milatzo of Janesville, Wi.

The family is grateful for the compassionate and respectful care Kate received at Villa Pines Living Center. Heartfelt thanks goes to Pastor Phillip Enderle and the congregation of United In Christ Lutheran Church.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4^th, 2015 at United In Christ Lutheran Church in Dellwood, Wi.  Pastor Phillip Enderle will officiate.  Friends may call at the church on Saturday, April 4^th from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
