Kay Partipilo

Katherine “Kay” Partipilo (née Calabres) passed away in Mesa, Arizona on March 24, 2014, at 12:05 am. She was 75 years old.

Kay was born in California on September 7, 1938, to Dorothy and James Calabres.
Shortly afterwards, the family relocated to Chicago, Illinois. She had seven siblings: Rose Marie, Cecil, Della, John, Carmella, Sue, and Antoinette. Of those, she is survived by Rose Marie and Sue.
Kay met her husband, Joseph Partipilo, and they married on May 17, 1959. Together, they lived in Chicago for many years during which time Kay devoted herself to her husband and their eventual two children, Kathleen and Michael. Eschewing working outside the home, Kay occasionally volunteered as a Democratic judge during elections.

Upon Joe’s retirement in 1999, they relocated permanently to the vacation home they had maintained in Friendship near Castle Rock Lake. They later established a winter home in Mesa to which they would travel to annually during the cold season.

Kay is survived by several members of her immediate and extended family which include husband Joe, daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Henry Rowell; son and former daughter-in-law, Michael and Patti Vance; grandsons Daniel Rowell, Jason Rowell, and Jacob Vance, and great-grandson, Noah Vance.

Memorial service for Kay will be held on April 5, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 807 W. Lake Street, Friendship, WI., beginning at 11:00 am. A mass will follow at 12:30pm. The family will hold a luncheon afterwards at the St. Joseph’s Hall located adjacent to the former church at 166 Main Street, Adams (corner of E. Hazel Street and N. Grant Street).
